Social Workers' India Service Society (SWISS) is a registered grassroots social welfare organisation working with marginalised, tribal and rural families along the Kerala – Tamil Nadu border.
SWISS operates primarily out of the rural border regions of Palakkad district, working closely within Chittur Taluk and the Muthalamada South and Kambrathchalla border ecosystems. Our efforts are directed toward marginalised, tribal and rural border panchayats through practical, on-the-ground intervention.
SWISS channels its effort into three distinct intervention areas built around the real needs of border communities.
Targeted empowerment workshops combining community leadership, self-reliance training and alternative mental wellness models, including introductory clinical hypnotherapy and psychological counselling.
Coordination with regional ICDS blocks in Chittur and Kollengode to strengthen rural nutrition awareness, child safety initiatives and women's empowerment programmes.
A community relief framework that sources and distributes grocery kits, emergency relief supplies and educational materials to economically vulnerable tribal families near the state border.

Our primary project zone in Muthalamada sits directly off State Highway 27 (SH27).
It is roughly a 25 to 30 minute drive from the neighbouring commercial hub of Tattamangalam.
